HR Officer – Kurunegala Branch

We are seeking a proactive and people-focused HR Officer to lead the Human Resources function at our Kurunegala facility. In this role, you will act as the primary HR Business Partner (HRBP) for the branch, serving as the vital link between local operations and Head Office HR. You will be responsible for the entire employee lifecycle—from coordinating high-volume recruitment and inductions to managing industrial relations and branch-level welfare. The Role: Branch HR Business Partnering & Operations

As the HR Officer for Kurunegala, you will own the localized execution of the company’s people strategy across all departments.

  • Branch HRBP Representation: Act as the face of HR at the branch level, providing strategic support to branch management and addressing day-to-day operational HR needs.

  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Coordinate local recruitment efforts, including CV shortlisting, interview logistics, and delivering comprehensive inductions for new hires.

  • Lifecycle Coordination: Manage the “engine room” of HR operations, including attendance tracking, leave management, overtime (OT) verification, and exit processing.

  • Reporting & Compliance: Prepare and submit monthly HR metrics, organizational updates, and critical documentation for Audit and ISO compliance.

  • Learning & Development: Identify local training needs, coordinate nominations for development programs, and track the branch training budget and logistics.

  • Employee Relations & Welfare: Lead staff engagement initiatives and welfare activities while assisting branch management with disciplinary coordination and policy implementation.

  • Safety & Awareness: Support the rollout of safety awareness activities and ensure all branch operations align with corporate health and safety standards.

  • Head Office Liaison: Ensure seamless process alignment by acting as the key liaison for approvals, reporting, and policy cascading between Kurunegala and the Head Office.


Candidate Profile

We are looking for a structured HR professional with a strong administrative foundation and the interpersonal maturity to handle sensitive employee matters.

  • Education: Professional Qualification in HRM (eg, CQHRM/DHRM) from a recognized institute, or a Bachelor’s Degree in HRM or Business Administration.

  • Experience: 2–4 years of proven experience in HR operations, branch-level HR, or as an HR Generalist.

  • Technical Skills: * Strong knowledge of Employee Lifecycle Management and HR reporting.

    • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel for reporting is essential).

    • Comfort working with HRIS systems and structured data.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent communication skills in local languages ​​and English.

    • High standards of confidentiality and ethical conduct.

    • Ability to multitask and coordinate across various departments simultaneously.

  • Location Presence: Must be able to operate effectively out of the Kurunegala branch.
