Role Overview Dialog Axiata PLC is seeking a high-impact Data Scientist to join our Group Analytics and AI division. In this role, you will be the architect of data-driven intelligence, transforming complex datasets into actionable strategies that fuel our digitization goals. You will work across the full lifecycle of data science—from high-level problem discovery and feature engineering to the deployment of scalable machine learning models. The ideal candidate is a curious problem-solver who can bridge the gap between deep technical modeling and executive-level business storytelling, ensuring our tactical decisions are backed by rigorous predictive power.

Key Responsibilities

Predictive Modeling & Machine Learning

• Model Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable machine learning models to solve complex business challenges, ranging from customer churn prediction to network optimization.

• Feature Engineering: Execute advanced data preprocessing, including cleaning, transformation, and sophisticated feature engineering to enhance model accuracy.

• Full-Stack Analytics: Utilize advanced statistical methodologies and deep learning techniques to identify hidden patterns and trends within massive telecommunications datasets.

Strategic Intelligence & Collaboration

• Business Translation: Collaborate with cross-functional business units to understand their core objectives and translate them into robust, testable data models.

• Actionable Insights: Transform “raw data” into “actionable intelligence,” providing stakeholders with clear recommendations to support strategic and tactical decision-making.

• Visualization: Communicate complex findings through intuitive reports, interactive dashboards (Tableau/Power BI), and presentations tailored for non-technical leadership.

Innovation & R&D

• Tech Evolution: Stay at the forefront of the industry by researching and adopting the latest trends in AI, Generative AI, and advanced analytics.

• Scalable Architecture: Work alongside data engineers to ensure models are integrated into high-performance, big-data environments.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.

• Experience: Proven experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar analytical role, ideally within a high-volume data environment.

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Programming: Expert-level proficiency in Python or R, and advanced SQL for data extraction.

  • Algorithms: Strong foundation in statistical methods and a wide array of machine learning algorithms (Supervised, Unsupervised, and Reinforcement Learning).

  • Visualization: Hands-on experience with tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Plotly/Matplotlib for data storytelling.

  • Big Data: Familiarity with ecosystem tools such as Hadoop, Spark, or cloud-based data warehouses.

• Core Competencies:

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
