Fire Fighting Engineer | Al-Futtaim Engineering & Technologies

Role Overview Al-Futtaim Engineering is seeking a technically grounded and proactive Fire Fighting Site Engineer to lead the execution, supervision, and coordination of critical fire protection systems. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all installations—ranging from fire pumps to complex sprinkler networks—comply with project specifications, international NFPA standards, and local Civil Defense requirements. You will act as a key field leader, ensuring that systems are delivered safely, on time, and to the rigorous quality standards expected by our global clients.

Key Responsibilities

Site Execution & Technical Supervision

Installation Oversight: Supervise the end-to-end installation of fire fighting systems, including fire pumps (diesel, electric, and jockey), wet/dry riser systems, sprinkler networks, hose reels, and specialized foam or clean agent systems.
Drawing Compliance: Ensure all site works are executed in strict accordance with approved shop drawings and method statements.
Progress Monitoring: Actively monitor daily site activities to ensure project timelines are met without compromising technical integrity.

Coordination & Stakeholder Management

Interdisciplinary Alignment: Coordinate seamlessly with main contractors, client representatives, and other MEP trades (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing) to resolve space conflicts and service integrations.
Technical Input: Attend site meetings to provide expert technical feedback regarding openings, sleeves, and structural supports for fire protection equipment.

Quality Assurance & Testing

Standards Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to NFPA 13, 14, 20, and 25 alongside local Civil Defense regulations.
Inspection Readiness: Conduct thorough internal inspections prior to consultant or client walkthroughs, managing the Material/Work Inspection Request (MIR/WIR) process.
Commissioning Leadership: Lead hydrostatic pressure testing, system flushing, and fire pump performance verification to ensure successful final handover.

Resource & Safety Management

Safety Advocacy: Enforce high HSE standards and safe work practices, identifying and mitigating site risks to ensure a zero-accident environment.
Material Logistics: Plan and request materials in advance, coordinating with procurement for timely delivery and managing manpower allocation to optimize productivity.
Documentation: Prepare accurate daily/weekly progress reports, site logs, and assist in the development of as-built drawings.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
Experience: 3–7 years of dedicated experience in fire fighting systems (UAE or GCC experience is highly preferred).
Technical Knowledge: * Mastery of NFPA standards (specifically 13, 14, 20, and 25) and regional Civil Defense codes.
- Hands-on familiarity with testing and commissioning procedures for high-pressure systems.
