Assistant Manager – Instrumentation | Leading Diversified Conglomerate
Role Overview
Our client, a premier diversified conglomerate renowned for its dominant presence in the construction products sector, is seeking a technically adept Assistant Manager – Instrumentation. As the group undergoes a strategic expansion into new product portfolios, this role will be based within a newly established subsidiary. You will be responsible for the lifecycle management of sophisticated field instruments and control systems, ensuring maximum uptime and operational precision. This is a vital leadership position for an engineer who excels at troubleshooting complex automated systems and is ready to drive technical excellence during a high-growth phase.
Key Responsibilities
Field Instrumentation & Hardware Maintenance

Technical Troubleshooting: Maintain and repair critical field instruments including weigh feeders, load cells, transmitters, bag filter instruments, and packers.

Lifecycle Management: Oversee both preventive and breakdown maintenance, performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to minimize recurring technical failures.

New Installations: Lead instrumentation tasks for new facility upgrades, ensuring seamless integration with existing plant infrastructure.
Control Systems & Automation

System Integration: Manage and troubleshoot PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems, including HMI modifications and VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) configurations.

Electrical Interfacing: Oversee MCC-interfaces and ensure the integrity of control logic across the production line.

Safety & Compliance: Manage safety interlocks, trip logs, and meticulous documentation to ensure all systems operate within strict regulatory and safety parameters.
Leadership & Operational Coordination

Team Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and hands-on training to junior team members to enhance the department’s collective skill set.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with maintenance, production, and electrical departments to align instrumentation goals with overall plant output.

Reporting: Maintain detailed maintenance records, calibration logs, and project progress reports for senior management.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Education: Diploma, BE, B.Tech, BET, or BSc in Instrumentation, Electronics, Automation, or Control Engineering.

Experience: * Minimum of 6–8 years of hands-on experience in industrial instrumentation.

Proven track record in a manufacturing or construction-product environment.

Technical Mastery:

Expert-level troubleshooting skills with Siemens, ABB, or Schneider PLC/DCS systems.

Sound knowledge of industrial networking and automation protocols.

Hands-on experience with high-precision weighing systems and sensory instruments.
