Ground Operations Trainer (Cargo) | Air Arabia
Role Overview
Air Arabia is seeking a highly skilled Ground Operations Trainer (Cargo) to lead the design, development, and delivery of comprehensive cargo training programs. You will be responsible for ensuring that all cargo personnel are equipped with the technical knowledge required to operate in full compliance with GCAA, IATA, and ICAO regulations. With a primary focus on Dangerous Goods acceptance, Special Cargo handling, and Safety Management Systems (SMS), you will play a vital role in maintaining the airline’s high standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Training Design & Delivery

Program Development: Design and deliver specialized Cargo Operations training programs that meet and exceed GCAA, IATA, and ICAO industry standards.

Technical Instruction: Conduct both classroom and practical training sessions covering ULD operations, cargo acceptance, and the handling of Special Cargo (e.g., Live Animals, Perishables, and Dangerous Goods).

Methodology Innovation: Identify and implement diverse training techniques—including instructor-led, computer-based, and blended learning—to maximize knowledge retention and engagement.

Strategic Customization: Analyze training needs and learner profiles to determine the most efficient and effective delivery methods for a multicultural workforce.
Compliance & Quality Assurance

Regulatory Alignment: Regularly audit and update training materials to reflect the latest safety protocols, operational requirements, and international regulatory shifts.

Effectiveness Evaluation: Utilize recognized evaluation models to assess training outcomes and recommend data-driven improvements to the curriculum.

Audit & Investigation Support: Provide subject matter expertise during internal and external audits and assist in operational investigations related to cargo handling.

Safety Integration: Ensure all training content reinforces corporate SMS principles and contributes to a robust safety culture.
Industry Leadership

Best Practices: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global industry innovations, regulatory developments, and best practices in cargo logistics and aviation training.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.

Certifications: * Recognized “Train the Trainer” qualification (e.g., IATA, City & Guilds).
-
Valid Dangerous Goods (DGR) Certification for Acceptance Staff (Category 7.1 or equivalent). Instructor-level certification is highly preferred.

Experience: * Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Cargo Acceptance.

At least 2 years of specific experience in Dangerous Goods and Special Cargo handling.

Prior experience in training design and delivery within a regulated aviation environment.

Technical Knowledge: * Extensive command of IATA AHM, ICHM, and ULDR manuals.

Demonstrated understanding of airline and ground handling Safety Management Systems (SMS).

Communication: Fluency in written and spoken English. Proficiency in Arabic or Russian is considered a significant advantage.
