B2 Certifying Engineer – Line Maintenance | Air Arabia
Role Overview
Air Arabia is seeking a highly skilled B2 Certifying Engineer to lead and certify Line Maintenance activities with a specialized focus on avionics and electrical systems. Holding a CAR 66 B2 license, you will be responsible for the airworthiness of Air Arabia and third-party aircraft, performing critical inspections, complex troubleshooting, and component rectifications. This role demands technical precision and a commitment to safety, ensuring that all maintenance is certified in a timely manner and remains in full compliance with regulatory standards and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence & Technical Certification

Task Management: Review assigned task cards with the Maintenance Manager to prioritize work, understand documentation requirements, and identify critical safety cautions.

Maintenance Execution: Prepare and perform scheduled maintenance, ensuring all required parts, tools, and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) are utilized according to official instructions.

Inspection & Diagnostics: Execute rigorous aircraft tests and inspections to identify and record defects or damage, adhering strictly to approved maintenance protocols.

Avionics Troubleshooting: Perform complex defect troubleshooting and rectifications in accordance with Aircraft Maintenance Manuals and guidance from the Engineering Department.

Certification: Sign off on maintenance tasks performed or supervised within the scope of your authorization, verifying that all documentation is complete and accurate upon task completion.
Safety & Human Factors

Risk Mitigation: Manage the safety of all assigned tasks, ensuring mandatory precautions are strictly enforced before and during execution.

Personnel Protection: Proactively protect yourself and colleagues from injury through the diligent use of protective equipment and proper GSE.

Continuity of Care: Manage the human factors of maintenance, protecting critical tasks from interruption and utilizing formal handover procedures to ensure seamless shift transitions.
Leadership & Professionalism

Team Supervision: Provide sound guidance and supervision to Technicians supporting your tasks. Ensure all non-certifying staff are adequately briefed on their responsibilities.

Collaborative Support: Offer proactive professional advice and solutions to other operational teams within Air Arabia to support fleet reliability.

Brand Representation: Present a highly competent and professional image of Air Arabia’s technical standards to flight crews, customers, and external partners.
Cost & Resource Awareness

Efficiency: Maintain a sharp awareness of maintenance costs, optimizing the use of time and materials to support operational goals.

Waste Reduction: Minimize the waste of consumables and prevent unnecessary part repair costs by avoiding repeat work and accidental damage during maintenance.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Licensing: Valid CAR 66 B2 License with relevant authorizations.

Experience: * Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Line Maintenance environment.

At least 2 years of experience specifically certifying maintenance on the Airbus A320 family.

Technical Mastery:

In-depth knowledge of A320 avionics, electrical systems, and troubleshooting methodologies.

Proficiency in using Maintenance & Engineering software for task management and documentation.
