Role Overview

SAP is looking for a visionary Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our expanding team of AI experts dedicated to the Middle East market. In this role, you will lead the architecture and delivery of production-grade ML and Generative AI systems that power over 80% of global commerce. You won’t just build models; you will own the entire lifecycle—from data pipelines and feature stores to LLM applications and responsible AI controls. This is a high-impact position for a technical leader who thrives on turning complex business challenges into scalable, high-performing AI frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

AI Architecture & Generative AI Leadership

• System Design: Lead the end-to-end design of ML and GenAI systems to solve complex product problems at scale.

• Full-Stack Ownership: Architect and implement data pipelines, feature stores, training workflows, model-serving infrastructure, and online experimentation.

• Advanced GenAI: Drive use cases involving RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), tool use, evaluation harnesses, and safety controls.

• Core Domains: Lead technical direction across deep learning, NLP, ranking, recommendations, and semantic retrieval.

Optimization & MLOps

• Performance Engineering: Optimize for latency, reliability, and cost-efficiency; manage distributed training and inference, GPU utilization, and model compression.

• Operational Observability: Implement drift detection, retraining strategies, and rigorous monitoring for live environments.

• Prompt & Retrieval Strategy: Oversee prompt optimization and retrieval refinement to ensure high-fidelity outputs.

• Technical Mentorship: Guide other engineers and translate technical best practices into reusable platform capabilities.

Regional Innovation

• Market Impact: Serve customers across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, blending regional understanding with deep technical expertise.

• Collaboration: Work within a high-impact, collaborative environment to transform industry challenges into practical, production-ready solutions.
