Senior Manager Distribution | Commercial Strategy & Transformation
Role Overview
Join Qatar Airways to lead the technological and strategic evolution of one of the world’s most sophisticated airline distribution ecosystems. As Senior Manager Distribution, you will architect the end-to-end transformation of our global channels—spanning GDS, NDC APIs, and aggregator interfaces. Reporting directly to the VP of Distribution & Commercial Efficiency, you will serve as a commercial and technical steward, ensuring our booking and servicing experiences are modern, efficient, and consistent across all global markets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Retailing Evolution

Transformation Roadmap: Develop and execute the global distribution strategy, defining the long-term roadmap for modern airline retailing.

NDC Strategy: Lead the shift toward NDC (New Distribution Capability), shaping functional roadmaps and regional adoption models.

Industry Representation: Act as the primary representative for Qatar Airways in high-level engagements with GDS providers, tech partners, and aggregators.

Executive Advisory: Provide data-driven recommendations to senior leadership, leveraging industry intelligence to anticipate market shifts.
2. Operational Excellence & Governance

Partner Management: Lead day-to-day global relationships with distribution partners, ensuring strict adherence to performance, compliance, and delivery standards.

Integration Oversight: Manage the onboarding and continuous technical enablement of APIs and aggregators to ensure a seamless servicing ecosystem.

Channel Hygiene: Define and enforce distribution policy frameworks, governing booking quality and system integrity to protect against misuse and minimize cost leakage.

Data Stewardship: Own distribution analytics and reporting to drive informed tactical and strategic decision-making.
3. Cross-Functional & People Leadership

Organizational Alignment: Drive synergy between IT, Digital, Revenue Management, and Sales to implement new retailing capabilities.

Negotiation Support: Prepare the technical and financial frameworks necessary for complex GDS and aggregator contract negotiations.

Team Development: Set department objectives, mentor high-performing team members, and ensure succession readiness within the distribution function.
About You: Skills & Qualifications

Experience:
-
10+ years of total job-related experience, with at least 8 years specifically within airline distribution or commercial technology.

Proven track record in leading multi-regional functions and navigating complex GDS/aggregator contract negotiations.

Technical Mastery:

Deep, hands-on expertise in NDC, GDS, and aggregator technologies.

Knowledge of Offer & Order management systems is highly advantageous.

Commercial Acumen:

Strategic thinker with the ability to influence senior internal stakeholders and diverse external partners.

Skilled in working within multi-national and multi-cultural environments.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.

Core Competencies: Strong decision-making, exceptional presentation skills, and a forward-thinking mindset that anticipates industry trends.
