Senior Compliance & Safety Engineer | Group Risk, Safety & Security

(Exclusively for Qatari Nationals)

Role Overview

Qatar Airways is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Senior Compliance & Safety Engineer to join the Group Risk, Safety & Security (GRS&S) team in Doha. In this critical role, you will safeguard the airworthiness and maintenance standards of the Qatar Airways fleet and customer aircraft, ensuring strict adherence to QCAR Parts 145, M, and 147, as well as EASA regulations. You will be a central figure in driving the Safety Management System (SMS), utilizing data-driven insights to mitigate risks and promoting a creative safety culture across our global MRO and CAMO environments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Safety Management & Investigations

Occurrence Investigation: Lead thorough investigations into safety occurrences, identifying root causes and verifying the implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
SMS Evolution: Develop and maintain the four pillars of the Safety Management System: Safety Policy, Risk Management, Assurance, and Promotion.
Performance Monitoring: Analyze qualitative and quantitative data trends to provide periodic safety performance reports to Safety Working Groups and Review Boards.

2. Regulatory Compliance & Governance

Technical Documentation: Review regulatory changes and update vital company manuals, including the MOE, TPM, CAME, and MTOE, to maintain top-tier compliance levels.
Liaison & Audit: Act as a primary liaison with Regulatory Authorities and lead audit teams to ensure all technical procedures satisfy international aviation standards.
Safety Promotion: Author and review Compliance and Safety Notices and leaflets to enhance the visibility of safety actions within the organization.

3. Authorization & Advisory

Strategic Advisory: Assess and advise management on authorization-related queries and technical issues.
Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify hazards from investigation insights and recommend mitigation strategies to safeguard the product and operational performance.

About You: Skills & Qualifications

Experience: * Minimum of 5 years of job-related experience in Compliance & Safety, Quality Assurance, or Continued Airworthiness.
- Proven experience in quality auditing and leading investigation teams.
Education: * Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Aeronautical) OR a Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering with an ICAO Type II license.
Technical Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of QCAA, EASA, FAA, and ICAO regulations.
- Detailed knowledge of aircraft maintenance fundamentals and safety systems.
- Proficiency in specialized tools such as AirNav and My Boeing Fleet.
Core Competencies:
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).
- Completion of Management training and role-specific technical courses.
