Senior Officer, Fixed Assets & Projects | First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB)

Role Overview

As a Senior Officer for Fixed Assets & Projects at First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), you will hold a critical role within the finance function of the UAE’s largest bank. You are responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of the bank’s physical and project-based assets. This includes managing international recoveries, precise project accounting, and ensuring the integrity of the Fixed Asset Register. Key Accountabilities

1. Fixed Asset & CIP Management

Capitalization & Tagging: Lead the monthly capitalization of fixed assets, ensuring every item is accurately entered, tagged with QR codes, and updated in the system.
Asset Tracking: Maintain the Construction in Progress (CIP) asset details, tracking costs until assets are ready for service and capitalization.
Physical Verification: Conduct semi-annual spot checks and audits to ensure physical assets match the digital register and are correctly tagged.
Hardware/Software Integration: Ensure specific tagging and tracking for specialized banking assets, including Computer/ATM hardware and software.

2. Project Accounting & Resource Management

WIP Monitoring: Maintain the Project Status and Work in Progress (WIP) details, providing monthly reviews of project health and expenditure.
Project Closure: Partner with Project Managers to ensure projects are closed accurately and on time, transitioning project costs into capitalized assets.
Resource Allocation: Manage monthly resource capitalization and update project data in Clarity to ensure labor and material costs are correctly accounted for.

3. International Recoveries & Stakeholder Coordination

Global Reconciliation: Monthly reconciliation of recovery GL accounts for FAB’s international branches and entities.
SPOC Liaison: Coordinate with Single Points of Contact (SPOCs) across international entities to confirm monthly details and resolve discrepancies via email and direct follow-ups.
System Integration: Prepare and upload entries into Oracle Fusion and T24 to debit international branch accounts following confirmation.

4. Compliance, MIS & Reporting

GL Proofing: Perform rigorous proofing of General Ledger accounts related to Recoveries, Fixed Assets, Projects, and CIP.
Reporting: Prepare Management Information System (MIS) reports to provide leadership with visibility into asset value, project spending, and Net Book Value (NBV).
Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to drive operational efficiency.

About You: Skills & Qualifications

Experience: * Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the banking sector.
- At least 3 years specifically focused on Fixed Assets and Project Accounting functions.
Technical Mastery:
- Required: Proficiency in the Oracle Fusion Fixed Asset module.
- Preferred: Exposure to the Project Costing module.
- Advanced user of MS Excel for complex data analysis and reconciliation.
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline.
Core Competencies: * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with international stakeholders.
- High attention to detail regarding regulatory compliance and accuracy.
