Credit Manager | FAB Securities
Role Overview
As the Credit Manager for FAB Securities (FABS), you are the primary architect and guardian of the credit risk environment within our brokerage division. You will lead the development and enforcement of the Margin Trading Policy, ensuring every transaction and facility aligns with Group risk appetite and the strict regulatory standards of the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA). This role requires a sophisticated blend of credit discipline, real-time exposure monitoring, and strategic collaboration to protect the firm’s capital while enabling business growth in the local markets.
Key Accountabilities
1. Policy Governance & Framework Implementation

Strategic Development: Lead the creation, review, and enhancement of the Margin Trading Policy and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Framework Alignment: Ensure the Group’s credit risk framework is seamlessly integrated into all FABS products, validating that processes and documentation meet internal and legislative requirements.

Operational Efficiency: Identify process gaps and system weaknesses, leading initiatives to strengthen the credit risk environment and maximize operational control.
2. Margin Trading & Portfolio Oversight

Credit Assessment: Evaluate and approve Margin Trading Facility requests, applying sound judgment in accordance with market rules and regulatory guidelines.

Daily Monitoring: Conduct rigorous daily surveillance of approved facilities, client portfolios, and margin ratios. Proactively identify emerging risks to prevent financial loss.

Margin Calls & Liquidation: Identify accounts in shortfall and coordinate with Relationship Managers for prompt resolution. You are authorized to approve liquidations in full compliance with the margin-call process and SCA rules.

ASL Management: Oversee the Approved Securities List (ASL), analyzing market impact, initiating system updates, and communicating changes to clients regarding eligible collateral.
3. Risk Mitigation & Technical Control

Exposure Monitoring: Support the Risk team in assessing credit controls across all products, ensuring early identification of material issues and material escalation.

ECL Calculation: Oversee the Expected Credit Loss (ECL) calculations, coordinating closely with the FABS Risk team to ensure accurate provisioning.

Documentation Accuracy: Manage the end-to-end documentation for Margin Trading, including Account Opening Agreements and appendices, in collaboration with Group Legal and Compliance.
4. Collaboration & Reporting

Cross-Functional Synergy: Partner with Audit, Legal, and Compliance to remediate account shortfalls and manage evolving client risk profiles.

Strategic Reporting: Prepare comprehensive management reports that provide clear visibility into credit exposures, trends, and risk concentrations.

Liaison: Act as the technical expert for credit matters during stock transfers, fund transfers, and account closures to safeguard credit controls.
About You: Skills & Qualifications

Experience:
-
7–10 years of experience in Credit Risk management.

Mandatory: Specific experience within UAE brokerage companies operating under SCA jurisdiction and local markets (ADX/DFM).

Proven track record of handling complex credit matters independently in a high-pressure environment.

Technical Mastery:

Expert-level understanding of SCA regulations pertaining to securities and margin trading.

Strong proficiency in Credit Risk Assessments and Expected Credit Loss (ECL) methodologies.

Excellent project management skills with a focus on risk mitigation and process enhancement.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline (Master’s or professional certification like CFA/FRM is a plus).
