Coordinator, Loss Prevention III | Ma’aden (Phosphate BU)
Role Overview
As the Coordinator for Loss Prevention III within the Phosphate Business Unit, you are the primary safeguard for our people and assets at the MWSPC plant. You are responsible for the rigorous implementation of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, ensuring that every member of the operational team is trained, competent, and equipped to prevent injuries. This role is a critical technical and administrative link, providing the direction necessary to eliminate workplace hazards and align plant operations with Ma’aden’s mission of excellence and safety.
Key Accountabilities
1. HSE Policy Implementation & Strategy

Program Administration: Develop, implement, and administer MWSPC’s HSE programs. This includes updating safety manuals, refining operational procedures, and overseeing the replacement of outdated safety equipment.

Strategic Participation: Contribute to the development of broad strategies and policies that foster a high-standard, healthy work environment.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all plant activities strictly adhere to regulatory agency standards and internal MWSPC safety policies.
2. Hazard Identification & Risk Mitigation

Hazard Analysis: Proactively identify potential health and safety threats stemming from unsafe procedures, poor work area design, or faulty equipment.

Technical Evaluations: Plan and conduct detailed evaluations of hazardous conditions, including exposure monitoring and atmospheric testing where necessary.

Corrective Action: Prepare comprehensive reports for management that identify program discrepancies and provide actionable recommendations for control and compliance.

Verification: Conduct follow-up inspections, tests, and audits to verify that safety measures have been successfully integrated and risks have been reduced.
3. Incident Investigation & Training

Lead Investigator: Lead or participate in thorough accident and incident investigations, filing detailed reports and associated documentation to prevent recurrence.

Competency Building: Coordinate with First Line Supervisors to identify training requirements. Conduct professional training sessions to ensure staff are proficient in using protective equipment and plant machinery safely.

Advisory Role: Serve as a technical advisor to both management and employees on safe work practices and emerging health issues.
4. Project & Contractor Support

Design Review: Evaluate designs, construction plans, and commissioning protocols for new facilities to identify and mitigate safety concerns before operations begin.

Contractor Oversight: Participate in contract preparation and the contractor selection process to ensure external partners adhere to MWSPC’s safety benchmarks during construction.

Business Development Liaison: Assist the Business Development team by reviewing specifications and responding to EHSS-related inquiries in proposals.
About You: Skills & Qualifications

Professional Experience:
-
4–10 years of experience in Plant Operations and Supervisory roles.

Specific Industry Expertise: Background in the fertilizer or chemical industry is required.

Proven track record in incident investigation and HSE program administration.

Technical Mastery:

Strong understanding of industrial health hazards and exposure monitoring.

Proficiency in evaluating facility designs for loss control.

Excellent written and verbal communication in English, with the ability to present technical safety data to diverse audiences.

Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field.
