Manager, Domain Architecture | Ma’aden

Role Overview 

As the Manager of Domain Architecture, you are the master architect for a specific business vertical within Ma’aden. Your mission is to design the end-to-end solutions and platforms that position Ma’aden as the world’s leading technology-enabled miner. You bridge the gap between high-level enterprise standards and real-world domain outcomes, ensuring that every application, data flow, and integration within your domain is coherent, scalable, and aligned with the “third pillar” of the Saudi economy.

Key Accountabilities

1. Domain Solution Design

• End-to-End Architecture: Lead the design of comprehensive solution architectures for all domain-specific initiatives, ensuring technical components (applications, data, and technology) work in harmony.

• Objective Translation: Transform complex business objectives into coherent, integrated technical designs that drive operational value.

• Outcome Alignment: Partner with Domain Integrators to ensure the technical architecture directly supports the desired business results for the vertical.

2. Architecture Coherence & Standards

• Pattern Definition: Define and maintain domain-specific architecture patterns and reference designs that serve as a blueprint for all new developments.

• Vertical Consistency: Ensure that all solutions within the domain are consistent with one another, reducing technical debt and fragmentation.

• Governance & Quality: Review and guide solution designs across all domain initiatives, providing hands-on architectural leadership to Technical Initiative Leads and delivery teams.

3. Platform & System Integration

• Platform Consumption: Design how domain-specific solutions consume enterprise-wide platforms, ensuring they leverage existing assets correctly and efficiently.

• Interoperability: Guarantee reliable data flows and system interoperability between domain solutions and core enterprise systems (IT and OT).

• Risk Management: Proactively identify and address architectural risks arising from the interaction between domain-specific needs and platform constraints.

• Collaboration: Partner with Platform Architects to align capabilities and navigate technical constraints across the enterprise ecosystem.

About You: Skills & Qualifications

• Professional Experience:

  • 15+ years of extensive experience in solution or domain architecture roles.

  • Proven track record of designing complex digital or industrial solutions within large-scale environments.

  • Deep expertise in data-driven, integration-heavy, and platform-based architectures.

• Technical Mastery:

  • Mastery of systems integration and interoperability concepts.

  • Strong ability to translate ambiguous business needs into concrete, high-performance architecture.

  • Expert-level design governance and technical guidance skills.

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Core Competencies:

  • Cross-Domain Collaboration: Ability to work effectively across multiple technical and business boundaries.

  • Design Governance: A rigorous approach to ensuring architectural standards are met without stifling innovation.
