IBM Content Manager Lead | Infosys

Service Line: Data & Analytics / Digital Experience Location: Multiple Locations

Role Overview 

As the IBM Content Manager Lead, you will be the technical authority for our Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions. You are responsible for the structural integrity, security, and lifecycle of business-critical information. This role requires a blend of hands-on development and architectural oversight, ensuring that content models and metadata strategies not only meet immediate business needs but also comply with global regulatory standards. You will bridge the gap between complex backend repositories and seamless user experiences via IBM Content Navigator and custom integrations.

Key Responsibilities

1. ECM Solution Design & Development

  • Content Modeling: Design and implement robust content models, document classes, and metadata strategies that enable efficient search and retrieval.

  • Access & Governance: Establish sophisticated access controls (RBAC), retention policies, and auditing concepts to ensure data security and compliance.

  • Application Integration: Develop and enhance integrations between IBM Content Manager and enterprise applications using REST/SOAP Web Services and custom connectors.

2. Technical Leadership & Requirement Analysis

  • Strategic Planning: Perform deep-dive requirement analysis and prepare technical designs for large-scale ECM initiatives.

  • Mentorship: Lead technical discussions, conduct code reviews, and mentor team members on IBM Content Manager best practices and efficient query patterns.

  • Estimation: Provide accurate development effort estimates for sprints and project milestones within Agile delivery models.

3. Operational Excellence & Optimization

  • Performance Tuning: Optimize system responsiveness through advanced indexing strategies, database tuning (SQL), and efficient content retrieval patterns.

  • Production Support: Act as the escalation point for production issues, performing root-cause analysis and implementing fixes to minimize business disruption.

  • Release Management: Oversee build packaging, deployment coordination across Linux/Unix environments, and post-release validation.

4. Documentation & Collaboration

  • Knowledge Management: Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, deployment guides, and operational runbooks for regulated environments.

  • Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate with QA and business teams to define test scenarios and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for high-quality releases.

Technical & Professional Requirements

Core IBM Stack:

  • IBM Content Manager / FileNet: Deep development and configuration expertise.

  • IBM Content Navigator: Customization and user interface configuration.

  • Content Services: Experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP).

Platform & Data:

  • Databases: Strong SQL skills for data mapping and performance indexing.

  • Operating Systems: Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments.

  • Frameworks: Familiarity with Java/J2EE and API-based integration patterns.

About You: Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience:

    • 5–9 years of overall experience with a heavy focus on IBM Content Manager development.

    • Proven track record in troubleshooting and supporting enterprise applications in production.

    • Experience in high-volume, regulated environments where security and auditing are paramount.

  • Technical Mastery:

    • Solid understanding of the Content Lifecycle, from ingestion to archival/disposition.

    • Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into scalable technical designs.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in B.Tech, B.E., or a related field (Computer Science, IT, or Engineering).

  • Core Competencies:

    • Analytical Thinking: Advanced debugging and problem-solving abilities.

    • Communication: Clear and concise interaction with both technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders.
