Role Overview Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Assistant Resident Engineer specialized in Infrastructure, Roads, and Landscaping to join our team! In this pivotal role, you will support the Resident Engineer in administering day-to-day operational functions, ensuring that assigned works are executed with technical precision and operational excellence. You will act as a primary technical resource, bridging the gap between design and construction while overseeing field engineering assignments to ensure every milestone meets the high standards of the Parsons legacy.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance

• Constructability Reviews: Perform well-defined field engineering assignments, focusing on constructability reviews and the continuous observation of work in progress.

• Quality Control: Maintain first-level quality assurance to confirm that all installations within your discipline align strictly with project plans, specifications, and international industry standards.

• Design Interpretation: Review and interpret discipline-specific design drawings and specifications to ensure the latest revisions are being executed correctly in the field.

• Problem Resolution: Identify and provide technical solutions for engineering challenges on-site, coordinating with design engineering staff to implement effective fixes.

Operational & Schedule Management

• Progress Appraisal: Monitor construction schedules and provide accurate data to the Resident Engineer to facilitate comprehensive progress appraisals.

• Supply Chain Monitoring: Track material procurement and deliveries to ensure timely arrival in support of the construction schedule.

• Documentation & Logs: Maintain a detailed daily log as a permanent project record, ensuring all discipline data is organized for final project turnover and reporting.

• Submissions Review: Rigorously review Contractor submissions and maintain technical catalogs, supplier data, and project-specific literature.

Safety, Environment & Supervision

• Safety Leadership: Ensure all personnel within your group engage in safe work practices, collaborating with management to eliminate environmental, health, or safety hazards.

• Inspection Oversight: Supervise site inspection staff and ensure that all tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented according to approved procedures.

• Reporting: Prepare professional progress reports and perform other related responsibilities as required by the project’s evolving needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

• Experience: * Minimum of 12 years of overall experience in Infrastructure, Road Works, and Utilities (dry and/or wet) projects.

  • Proven track record in supervising major road and general infrastructure projects, with a strong preference for experience in Abu Dhabi.

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Solid understanding of engineering and construction processes, industry best practices, and international standards.

  • Proficient in computer applications for data access, record management, and specialized engineering/construction software.

• Core Competencies:

  • Communication: Exceptional command of English (written and spoken) with high-level technical writing skills.

  • Leadership: Strong ability to supervise inspection teams and manage contractor relationships effectively.

  • Analytical Rigor: A meticulous approach to reviewing drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
