Draughtsman | Technical Design & Drafting

Role Overview Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Draughtsman to transform engineering concepts and specifications into precise technical drawings. In this role, you will be a vital link in the project lifecycle, supporting engineering and construction teams by producing high-quality CAD outputs that ensure project accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities

Technical Drafting & Design

• Comprehensive Drawing Production: Prepare detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings using CAD software, tailored to specific engineering designs and project requirements.

• Specialized Documentation: Develop high-accuracy shop drawings, layout plans, schematic diagrams, and as-built documentation.

• Technical Interpretation: Translate sketches, raw engineering data, and technical specifications into standardized, professional drawings.

Design Coordination & Revision

• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with engineers, architects, and project leads to ensure all drafts align with overarching design specifications.

• Iterative Refinement: Proactively revise drawings based on design updates, technical feedback, and evolving project scopes.

• Consistency Oversight: Ensure every drawing remains consistent with the project’s technical requirements and spatial constraints.

Documentation & Version Control

• Record Management: Maintain meticulously organized records of all drawings, revisions, and associated project documentation.

• Standardization: Adhere strictly to company CAD standards and established document control procedures.

• Version Integrity: Manage drawing registers and implement rigorous version control to ensure the most current data is utilized by site teams.

Field Support & Compliance

• Site Verification: Conduct site visits to gather precise measurements and real-world project data to inform drafting accuracy.

• As-Built Updates: Finalize as-built drawings based on on-site modifications and post-completion surveys.

• Quality Assurance: Review all drawings for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to safety regulations and engineering standards prior to submission.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education & Certification: Professional certification or formal training in AutoCAD is mandatory.

• Experience: Minimum of one year of professional experience in drafting or technical design within the Engineering or Construction sectors.

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Strong command of engineering layouts, technical specifications, and architectural symbols.

  • Knowledge of Revit or other BIM software is considered a significant advantage.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for project coordination and reporting.

• Core Competencies:

  • Precision: Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on zero-error drafting.

  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple drafting tasks simultaneously while meeting strict project deadlines.

  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate smooth coordination across technical teams.
