Electrical Supervisor | Block 7 Field | Oxy Oman

Role Overview

As the Electrical Supervisor for Block 7, you are the technical lead responsible for the integrity, safety, and reliability of the field’s entire electrical infrastructure. This is a high-impact leadership role that involves coordinating complex electrical activities—from low-voltage distribution to high-voltage systems—within hazardous (classified) oil and gas environments. You will ensure that every installation, commissioning, and maintenance task is executed to the highest international standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Supervision & Maintenance

Operational Oversight: Supervise a dedicated team of electrical technicians and specialized contractors during routine maintenance, major shutdowns, and project-based installations.
Systems Expertise: Lead the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of critical assets, including:
- LV/HV Switchgear and Motor Control Centers (MCCs).
- VFDs, UPS Systems, and Power Generators.
- Transformers, Grounding, and Lightning Protection systems.
Maintenance Planning: Coordinate and execute both preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize field performance.

2. Safety, Compliance & Governance

HSE Leadership: Enforce strict adherence to company HSE policies and international explosion protection standards (ATEX, IECEx, NEC).
LOTO Management: Ensure 100% compliance with electrical isolation and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to protect personnel and assets.
Technical Documentation: Interpret, update, and manage vital technical documents, including Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs), P&IDs, and complex electrical schematics.
Risk Assessment: Prepare detailed job plans, method statements, and formal risk assessments for all electrical work.

3. Collaboration & Mentorship

Cross-Functional Synergy: Liaise with Instrumentation, Mechanical, and Operations departments to ensure integrated and efficient work planning.
Resource Management: Manage spare parts inventory and ensure all specialized tools and materials are available for planned work.
Team Development: Provide active mentorship and technical training to junior electrical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and safety.

About You: Skills & Qualifications

Experience: * Minimum of 10 years in electrical maintenance within the Oil & Gas industry.
- At least 3–5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Extensive experience with Ex-rated (Hazardous Area) equipment and explosion protection concepts.
Education & Licensing: * Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Valid Electrical Supervisor or Technician License (as per local regulations).
Technical Standards: In-depth knowledge of international codes, including IEC, NEC, API, and IEEE.
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP or Maximo.
Core Competencies: Strong leadership, fluent English communication skills, and the ability to manage high-pressure operational environments.
