Engineer – Converged Charging

Role Overview We are seeking a highly technical and analytical Engineer – Converged Charging to join our core telecommunications team. This role is central to the design, execution, and optimization of our Charging and Billing infrastructure, with a specific focus on Online Charging Systems (OCS). You will be responsible for translating business requirements into detailed technical blueprints, managing complex service integrations, and driving the transition toward application modernization and cloudification. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who excels in high-pressure environments and possesses a deep understanding of signaling protocols and real-time charging architectures.

Key Responsibilities

Project Design & Execution

Technical Blueprints: Research and design comprehensive architectural blueprints for new divisional projects, ensuring alignment with long-term infrastructure goals.
Modernization: Lead projects focused on operational optimization, including the transition of legacy charging systems to cloud-native and modernized application frameworks.
Roadmap Development: Conduct detailed analysis of project objectives to create actionable roadmaps and technical feasibility studies for new OCS-related services.

Service Integration & Configuration

Offer Creation: Configure and implement new commercial offers, promotional tariffs, and service bundles, providing technical advisory to business units on feasibility.
System Configuration: Manage complex system configuration changes and conduct end-to-end feasibility checks for integrated OCS functionalities.
Inter-Divisional Support: Collaborate with other technical divisions to streamline service integrations and optimize existing delivery pipelines.

Quality Assurance & Operational Support

Testing & Assurance: Prepare rigorous testing plans and conduct product-related troubleshooting during both the Pre-Launch Assurance (PLA) and post-launch stages.
Proactive Monitoring: Develop automated monitoring scripts and digitization tools to ensure 24/7 service accuracy and issue-free performance.
Tier-3 Support: Provide expert-level 24×7 third-level on-call support for OCS and related systems, leading traffic-handling activities during peak periods or network emergencies.

Technical Automation & Scripting

Script Development: Create back-end and web-service scripts (Shell, Python, Java) for daily operational tasks, performance monitoring, and rapid troubleshooting.
Knowledge Leadership: Share operational process improvements with the team and document system changes to ensure continuous knowledge transfer.

Entry Requirements

Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Telecommunications or Computer Science).
Certifications: * System Administration certification (e.g., RedHat).
- Cloud certification (e.g., AWS or GCP).
Experience: 1–2 years of proven experience in project planning, execution, and system integration specifically within Telecommunication nodes (OCS).
Technical Proficiency:
- Operating Systems: Advanced knowledge of Linux, Windows, and MacOS.
- Scripting: Proficient in Shell, Java, PHP, and Python.
- Databases: Familiarity with Oracle, MySQL, and Clickhouse.
- Protocols: Strong understanding of SOAP, REST, Diameter, Camel, and SS7 Signaling.
Core Competencies:
- Proven track record in troubleshooting complex real-time charging systems.
- Ability to handle high-traffic network emergencies with a calm, methodical approach.
- Strong analytical skills for capacity planning and system optimization.
