Financial Analyst / Asst. Manager

Strategic & Financial Analyst | Port City Colombo

We are seeking a high-caliber Strategic & Financial Analyst to join our core planning and investment team. In this pivotal role, you will provide the analytical rigor required to position Colombo Port City as a premier global financial hub. You will blend macroeconomic forecasting with sophisticated financial modeling to evaluate large-scale infrastructure investments, design competitive fiscal incentives, and benchmark our regulatory frameworks against the world’s leading financial centers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic & Financial Architecture

• Sectoral Analysis: Conduct deep-dive macro-financial and sectoral research across Banking, Fintech, Capital Markets, Logistics, and Real Estate.

• Impact Assessment: Evaluate the economic and fiscal consequences of proposed policies and regulatory frameworks to ensure long-term sustainability.

• Advanced Modeling: Develop complex financial models—including DCF, Scenario, and Sensitivity Analysis—to grade anchor investments and development initiatives.

2. Policy & Global Benchmarking

• Incentive Design: Support the creation of offshore financial models, tax frameworks, and incentive structures that align with national macroeconomic goals.

• Global Best Practices: Analyze and benchmark Colombo Port City against international financial centers to adopt world-class regulatory and operational standards.

3. Data, Research & Insights

• Macro Tracking: Monitor key macroeconomic indicators and global market trends to assess shifts in investor appetite.

• Strategic Reporting: Build and maintain internal databases and digital dashboards to provide leadership with real-time strategic monitoring and reporting capabilities.

Your Profile

We are looking for a candidate with a strong “can-do” attitude and the technical depth required to navigate the complexities of urban development and international finance.

• Education & Credentials: * CFA (Level I/II), MBA, or a Postgraduate Degree in Economics or Finance.

• Experience: * 2–3 years of professional experience in financial analysis or strategic planning.

  • Direct experience with large infrastructure, urban development, or financial center projects.

  • Prior exposure to public sector initiatives, multilateral institutions, or top-tier international consulting firms.

• Technical Skills: * Expertise in financial modeling and quantitative research.

  • Proficiency in building strategic dashboards and managing large datasets.

  • Strong understanding of fiscal policy and offshore financial regulations.
