Interventional Radiologist
Role Overview
As an Interventional Radiologist, you are at the cutting edge of modern medicine, utilizing advanced imaging technology to perform complex, minimally invasive surgical procedures. By replacing traditional open surgery with image-guided interventions, you provide patients with safer alternatives, shorter recovery times, and reduced risk. This role requires a unique combination of high-level diagnostic expertise and superior manual dexterity to navigate the human vascular and non-vascular systems with precision.
Key Responsibilities
1. Minimally Invasive Surgical Interventions

Vascular Procedures: Perform life-saving angioplasty and stenting to restore blood flow, as well as thrombolysis to dissolve critical blood clots.

Embolization: Execute precise embolization procedures to control internal bleeding or cut off the blood supply to tumors.

Oncology & Specialized Care: Lead tumor ablation procedures and perform image-guided biopsies with high accuracy.

Drainage & Access: Manage the placement of complex drains and central lines to support long-term patient care and stability.
2. Advanced Diagnostic Interpretation

Real-time Guidance: Masterfully interpret CT, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy to navigate instruments through the body in real-time.

Clinical Correlation: Use diagnostic imaging to evaluate the efficacy of procedures and plan for subsequent interventions.
3. Patient Management & Safety

Perioperative Care: Evaluate patients thoroughly pre- and post-procedure, managing expectations and ensuring physiological stability.

Complication Management: Maintain high vigilance to identify, manage, and mitigate procedural complications, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety.

Call Rotations: Participate in essential on-call rotations to provide emergency interventional support for trauma or acute clinical crises.
4. Multidisciplinary Leadership

Collaborative Synergy: Work as a strategic partner alongside surgeons, oncologists, and cardiologists to design integrated treatment plans for complex cases.

Accurate Documentation: Maintain meticulous medical records and procedural logs to ensure continuity of care and regulatory compliance.

Technical Precision: Exceptional hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for the manipulation of micro-catheters and guide wires.

Diagnostic Expertise: Advanced mastery in interpreting a wide range of imaging modalities.

Communication: Excellent patient counseling skills to explain complex procedures and obtain informed consent.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Medical degree (MD/MBBS) with specialized residency training in Radiology and a fellowship in Interventional Radiology.

Licensure: Valid MOH, DHA, or DOH eligibility letter or license to practice in the UAE.

Knowledge: Deep understanding of both vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures and safety protocols.
