Senior Executive – Finance (Industrial Machinery Division)

We are seeking a numerically sharp and process-oriented Senior Executive – Finance to manage the specialized accounting functions of our Industrial Machinery Division. In this role, you will go beyond general ledger maintenance to handle the complexities of machinery imports, project-based costing, and high-value inventory tracking. This position is designed for an accounting professional who understands the financial lifecycle of heavy equipment—from procurement and installation to long-term maintenance and depreciation.


The Role: Financial Control & Project Costing

As a Senior Finance Executive, you will be the analytical engine ensuring the profitability and fiscal compliance of the division’s operations.

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing the division head with clear visibility into performance.

  • Machinery Lifecycle Accounting: Record and monitor high-value transactions, including machinery purchases, sales, and complex inventory movements.

  • Cost Engineering: Prepare detailed cost analysis reports for machinery imports (landed costs), repairs, and large-scale installations.

  • Project & Maintenance Tracking: Track specific project costs and machinery maintenance expenses against operational budgets to identify variances.

  • Working Capital Management: Manage accounts payable and receivable specifically related to machinery operations, while monitoring cash flow and managing financial risks for long-term projects.

  • Inter-Departmental Coordination: Serve as the financial liaison for the procurement and sales teams to ensure all machinery transactions are documented accurately and timely.

  • Compliance & Audit: Ensure strict adherence to tax regulations, company policies, and accounting standards (SLFRS/LKAS). You will also lead the documentation support for both internal and external audits.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the formulation of annual budgets and financial forecasts to support the division’s strategic growth plans.


Candidate Profile

We are looking for a disciplined accountant with a strong background in industrial or engineering sectors and a mastery of ERP-driven financial management.

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Professional Credentials: Full or partial qualification in ACCA, CIMA, or CA Sri Lanka is a significant advantage.

  • Experience: 2–5 years of accounting experience , ideally within the manufacturing, engineering, or industrial sectors.

  • Technical Mastery:

    • Strong knowledge of Inventory Accounting and Project Costing .

    • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, Financial Modeling).

  • Core Competencies:

    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to manage multiple financial workflows and meet strict month-end deadlines.

    • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
