Senior Officer, Secure Lending OPS | First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB)

Role Overview 

As the Senior Officer for Secure Lending Operations, you will be a subject matter expert in the execution and documentation of Islamic Real Estate Finance (Home & Estate Finance). Your mission is to ensure that every facility is structured, vetted, and activated with absolute precision, adhering to the principles of Sharia-compliant banking and FAB’s internal policies. This role sits at the heart of our secure lending engine, requiring a professional who can balance technical documentation with high-stakes operational delivery for our mortgage clients.

Key Accountabilities

1. Documentation & Facility Structuring

• Offer Preparation: Lead the drafting of specialized Islamic finance documentation, including Facility Offer Letters, Consent Letters, and ad-hoc legal correspondence for real estate facilities.

• Accuracy Vetting: Conduct rigorous reviews of all security documents to ensure flawless detailing of facility amounts, profit rates, fee recoveries, and Sharia-compliant terms.

• Instructional Integrity: Prepare final facility instructions once all documentation is in order, serving as the bridge between credit approval and the Loan Operations team.

2. Disbursal & System Processing

• Maker Responsibility: Act as the primary “Maker” for all disbursals and internal memos. You are responsible for ensuring all conditions precedent are met before funds are released.

• System Execution: Perform system-related activities within CAS and LMS, ensuring all data entry reflects the approved credit terms.

• Queue Management: Maintain an efficient workflow with a “zero-queue” target at the end of every business day, ensuring no delays in customer service.

3. Compliance, Risk & Administration

• Policy Adherence: Accountable for complying with all approval terms and conditions under FAB’s policies and UAE Central Bank regulations.

• MIS & Reporting: Maintain and update critical Management Information Systems (MIS) related to deferrals, post-disbursal documents, and request tracking.

• Document Custodianship: Oversee the proper filing and lodgement of security documents, ensuring product files are complete and audit-ready.

• Administrative Governance: Manage inward/outward mail statements, acknowledgments, and vital correspondence to support unit-level administration.

4. Team Synergy & Support

• Continuity: Act as a critical backup for other staff members to ensure operational stability during absences.

• Special Projects: Execute high-priority tasks assigned by management to support the evolution of the Secure Lending OPS function.

About You: Skills & Qualifications

• Professional Experience:

  • 6–8 years of experience in Consumer Banking.

  • At least 6 years of specialized experience in Islamic Mortgage and Real Estate facility administration or operations.

• Technical Mastery:

  • Deep understanding of Islamic Finance products and Personal Banking functions.

  • Proficient in banking software systems (CAS/LMS) and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong knowledge of the UAE legal environment and Central Bank regulations.

• Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, with a major in Management Accounting.

• Core Competencies:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and “Maker-Checker” discipline.

  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced lending environment.

  • Decisive mindset with the ability to resolve discrepancies independently.
