Senior Quantity Surveyor – Infrastructure | Al Marwan Developments
Role Overview Al Marwan Developments is seeking a strategic and highly meticulous Senior Quantity Surveyor – Infrastructure to lead the commercial and contractual management of large-scale infrastructure projects across the UAE. This role is pivotal in safeguarding the financial health of our projects, requiring an expert who can navigate complex cost-value management, contract administration (FIDIC), and final account settlements. We are looking for a professional with a proven track record in high-value infrastructure—including roads, utilities, and bridges—who can deliver precision under pressure and drive commercial excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Financial Management

Budget Oversight: Manage and monitor project budgets, implementing rigorous cost/value control systems and accurate cash flow forecasting.

Valuations & Claims: Lead the preparation and submission of interim valuations, payment applications, and final accounts.

Variation Management: Proactively identify, evaluate, and negotiate variations, new rates, and change orders to ensure fair commercial outcomes.

Risk Mitigation: Provide high-level commercial input for project risk management, identifying potential financial bottlenecks before they impact performance.
Contract Administration

Contractual Governance: Administer complex contracts in strict accordance with local UAE laws and international standards, specifically FIDIC Red and Yellow Books.

Claims Defense: Support the project team in the preparation, substantiation, and defense of contractual claims and disputes.

Stakeholder Liaison: Build and maintain authoritative professional relationships with Client and Consultant Quantity Surveyors to facilitate smooth financial approvals.
Reporting & Leadership

Executive Reporting: Prepare comprehensive monthly commercial reports for Senior Management, highlighting performance metrics and financial forecasts.

Measurement & Verification: Conduct detailed measurements for cost verification and final account reconciliation.

Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior QS team members, fostering a culture of accuracy and professional growth.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience: 8–10 years of dedicated experience as a Quantity Surveyor. While UAE infrastructure experience is highly preferred, exceptional international candidates with relevant large-scale project exposure will be considered.

Technical Expertise: * Deep understanding of heavy infrastructure (roads, drainage, bridges, utilities, etc.).

Expert knowledge of FIDIC suites and UAE-specific procurement processes.

Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Candy (CCS), CostX, or advanced ERP systems.

Professional Standards: Membership in a recognized professional body (e.g., MRICS) is considered a significant advantage.
