Senior Specialist, Field Operations & Logistics | Ma’aden

Role Overview

As the Senior Specialist for Field Operations & Logistics, you will play a pivotal role in Ma’aden’s mission to become the third pillar of the Saudi Arabian economy. Reporting to the Manager of Field Operations & Logistics, you are responsible for leading and supporting the execution of critical field activities across our operational sites. This role serves as the essential interface between our field teams and corporate supply chain functions, ensuring that resource deployment is efficient, safe, and perfectly aligned with our global logistics strategies.

Key Accountabilities

1. Operational Leadership & Execution

Daily Oversight: Coordinate and supervise daily field logistics, encompassing transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
Resource Deployment: Ensure the timely, cost-effective delivery of essential materials, equipment, and personnel to operational sites, regardless of location complexity.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, ensuring all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met or exceeded.

2. Strategy & Optimization

Performance Analysis: Analyze logistics data to identify trends, recommend efficiency improvements, and drive significant cost reductions.
Forecasting: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to anticipate future logistics needs and develop proactive, scalable solutions.
Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to modernize field logistics processes and systems, fostering a culture of innovation.

3. Safety, Risk & Compliance

Standard Enforcement: Monitor and enforce strict compliance with Ma’aden’s safety, environmental, and operational standards.
Emergency Planning: Support emergency response logistics and develop robust contingency plans for field operations in remote environments.
Technical Mentorship: Provide guidance and technical mentorship to junior logistics staff to ensure a high-performing team.

About You: Qualifications & Experience

Experience: * 8+ years in field logistics, operations, or supply chain management.
- Proven track record in the mining, energy, or industrial sectors.
- Expertise in managing complex operations within remote or challenging environments.
Technical Skills: * Proficiency in ERP systems and logistics management software.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency is a distinct advantage.
Education: * Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., APICS, PMP, Lean Six Sigma) are highly desirable.
