Role Overview Parsons is seeking an amazingly talented Structural Engineer (Bridges) to join our world-class construction supervision team in Dubai. In this critical role, you will assist the Resident Engineer in overseeing the construction of complex bridges, viaducts, and associated infrastructure. You will act as a technical authority on-site, ensuring that every structural element—from large-diameter piling to post-tensioning—is executed with absolute precision and in strict accordance with approved designs. Key Responsibilities

Technical Supervision & Quality Control

• Construction Oversight: Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising all bridge and viaduct works, ensuring that the contractor’s execution aligns with project specifications and industry standards.

• Document Review: Review shop drawings, design proposals, and method statements. Prepare technical replies and correspondence for the Resident Engineer’s final approval.

• Material Integrity: Analyze laboratory and technical reports, carry out acceptance sampling plans, and verify that all material submissions meet the project’s rigorous quality measures.

• As-Built Accuracy: Ensure the correctness and completeness of ‘as-built’ drawings and manage the formal handing over of structural works to the relevant service authorities.

Coordination & Leadership

• Team Management: Direct and monitor the performance of inspectors and surveyors, providing necessary on-site direction to ensure safety and quality goals are met.

• Stakeholder Liaison: Convene and chair specialized meetings with service authorities, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues or scheduling conflicts.

• Design Integration: Coordinate directly with Parsons’ design engineers to resolve complex structural queries and issue site instructions as required.

• Resource Optimization: Collaborate with contractor engineers to monitor scheduling and the efficient application of resources on-site.

Reporting & Safety

• Progress Tracking: Measure performed work against programmed schedules, assisting the Resident Engineer in displaying project milestones and preparing Weekly/Monthly progress reports.

• Record Keeping: Maintain a meticulous daily diary and consolidate reports from the inspection team to ensure a comprehensive project record.

• Safety Advocacy: Oversee the implementation of project safety procedures and participate actively in all health and safety initiatives to achieve a zero-incident environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.

• Experience: * Minimum of 10 years of experience in design review and construction supervision.

  • Specialized expertise in Post-tension vehicular bridges, underpasses, and large-diameter piling works.

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Ability to justify material submissions and analyze complex technical/laboratory reports.

  • Fully computer literate with the ability to utilize engineering and construction-specific software for data management and reporting.

• Core Competencies:

  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal English skills, with a high level of proficiency in technical writing.

  • Analytical Rigor: Strong capability in testing, sampling, and quality assurance measures.

• Certification: DHRE (Dubai Holding Real Estate) approval is considered a significant advantage.

Desired Skills

• Regional Expertise: Experience in all aspects of civil supervision for major bridges and infrastructure projects within the Gulf region (UAE/GCC).

• Consultancy Background: Previous experience working within an engineering consultancy firm in the Middle East.
