Intern – Value Chain Operations

Toyota Lanka (Private) Limited , a subsidiary of Toyota Tsusho Corporation (Japan) , is offering a unique opportunity for high-potential individuals to begin their professional journey within our Value Chain division. This internship is designed to provide hands-on exposure to the complex logistics, procurement, and operational frameworks that power Sri Lanka’s “Most Loved Automobile Brand.” You will work alongside industry experts to support operational excellence and gain a deep understanding of how a global icon manages its end-to-end supply chain.

The Role: Operational Excellence & Value Chain Support

As a Value Chain Intern, you will be integrated into the core processes that ensure our vehicles and spare parts reach our customers with “Toyota Quality.”

• Process Support: Assist in the coordination of supply chain activities, including inventory tracking, procurement documentation, and logistics scheduling.

• Data Analytics: Support the team in gathering and analyzing operational data to identify bottlenecks and suggest workflow optimizations.

• Systems Integration: Gain practical experience using enterprise-level IT tools and ERP systems to manage value chain records and reporting.

• Cross-Functional Coordination: Liaise with various departments—including Spare Parts, Logistics, and Finance—to ensure seamless operational flow.

• Quality Assurance: Participate in administrative audits and process reviews to ensure all value chain activities align with Toyota’s global standards.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for energetic “self-starters” who are eager to apply their academic knowledge to a fast-paced corporate environment.

• Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management, Statistics , or a related field.

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel (data sorting, basic formulas, and pivot tables).

  • General IT savvy with an ability to learn new software and ERP systems quickly.

• Core Competencies:

  • Detail-Oriented: A high level of accuracy when handling data and operational records.

  • Analytical Mindset: The ability to look at numbers and processes to find meaningful insights.

  • Proactive Attitude: A passion for learning and a “can-do” approach to assigned tasks.

• Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills in English and local languages.
