Senior Mechanical Engineer – Transmission Lines
We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design and execution of large-scale power transmission infrastructure. In this role, you will be the primary technical authority for transmission line integrity, spanning from complex load calculations and tower spotting to on-site stringing and erection oversight. This position is designed for a seasoned engineer who can bridge the gap between theoretical structural mechanics and practical field execution, ensuring that our energy networks are resilient, compliant, and built to international standards.
The Role: Engineering Leadership & Technical Integrity
As a Senior Engineer, you will own the mechanical deliverables of the project lifecycle, ensuring structural safety and operational efficiency.
-
Detailed Engineering: Perform critical mechanical calculations for conductor tensions and environmental loads, including wind, ice, and seismic forces, to ensure line stability.
-
Design & Documentation: Develop and approve detailed design drawings, fabrication schedules, and engineering specifications, ensuring 100% alignment with project requirements.
-
Field Execution Oversight: Lead on-site technical activities, including tower erection and conductor stringing, while conducting inspections and audits to ensure quality assurance.
-
Multidisciplinary Coordination: Serve as the technical linchpin between civil, electrical, and structural teams to ensure seamless integration of power infrastructure.
-
Route & Asset Optimization: Participate in strategic route selection and “tower spotting” to optimize material usage and minimize environmental and mechanical risks.
-
Procurement & Vendor Management: Provide expert technical support during procurement, including vendor evaluations, material approvals, and factory acceptance tests.
-
Team Mentorship: Manage and mentor junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence and safety-first design.
-
Risk & Project Control: Interface with clients and consultants to manage technical risks, providing essential input for project scheduling and cost control.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a technically sophisticated leader with deep experience in power infrastructure and a “safety-by-design” mindset.
-
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
-
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of proven experience specifically in transmission line or power infrastructure projects.
-
Technical Mastery: * Strong knowledge of tower design , line hardware, and the mechanical performance of overhead conductors.
-
Expertise in international standards such asIECandIEEE.
-
-
Software Proficiency:Skilled in engineering design tools such asAutoCAD, STAAD, SAP2000,or specialized PLS-CADD software.
-
Leadership Qualities:* Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage junior engineers.
-
Excellent communication skills for interfacing with high-level clients and contractors.
-
