Associate Manager, Financial Accounting and Control

Role Purpose The Associate Manager, Financial Accounting and Control is a pivotal leadership role within the Finance General Accounting team. This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the General Ledger, overseeing the month-end close process, and maintaining a robust internal control environment. You will act as a key collaborator across global finance functions to drive reporting accuracy and process excellence.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Month-End Excellence

  • Close Management: Lead month-end close activities, ensuring all P&L and Balance Sheet transactions are recorded accurately and in full adherence to Group timelines.

  • Reconciliations: Prepare and perform high-level reviews of Balance Sheet reconciliations and account substantiations to maintain ledger integrity.

  • Reporting: Drive the delivery of high-quality financial reporting packs and performance schedules with a focus on precision and detail.

Financial Control & Audit

  • Control Framework: Maintain and strengthen internal controls in strict alignment with Group policies and the global financial control framework.

  • Audit Coordination: Serve as a primary partner for external auditors, coordinating information requests and ensuring a smooth, efficient audit cycle.

  • Process Onboarding: Support the seamless transition and onboarding of new accounting processes, aligning them with the Target Operating Model (TOM).

Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Digital Transformation: Contribute to the implementation of new financial systems, tools, and automated process improvements.

  • Process Evolution: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by collaborating with cross-functional teams to strengthen reporting frameworks.

  • Stakeholder Partnership: Work closely with Entity Accountants, Financial Controllers, and Statutory Reporting teams to ensure unified accounting standards.


Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a passed finalist of a recognized professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA, or CA).

  • Experience: * Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience.

    • Experience within a Finance Shared Services environment is highly advantageous.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Strong foundation in core accounting processes, consolidations, and general ledger management.

    • Deep understanding of financial control, reconciliation, and substantiation methodologies.

    • Hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion, Oracle, or HFM/FCCS is preferred.

    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader MS Office suite.
