Senior Executive – Tax

We are seeking a high-performing Senior Executive – Tax to join our specialized Tax & Regulatory practice. This role is designed for a seasoned tax professional who can navigate the complexities of both direct and indirect taxation while providing strategic advisory for high-stakes corporate transactions. As a Senior Executive, you will act as a technical linchpin, bridging the gap between statutory compliance and sophisticated tax structuring for private equity and strategic corporate entities.


The Role: Tax Compliance & Transactional Advisory

In this capacity, you will move beyond routine filings to become a strategic partner in our clients’ business objectives.

  • Full-Spectrum Compliance: Lead the preparation of tax computations and returns, ensuring all direct and indirect tax requirements are met with 100% accuracy.

  • Strategic Advisory: Recommend tax solutions that align with client business goals and ensure consistency with the latest tax laws and “good business” practices.

  • Dispute Resolution: Advise clients on tax payments, lodge formal appeals and administrative reviews, and proactively follow up on objections with the Department of Inland Revenue (IRD).

  • Deal Advisory: Serve as a core member of engagement teams for Tax Due Diligence and structuring assignments related to mergers, acquisitions, and cross-border transactions.

  • Business Growth: Proactively identify opportunities to expand service offerings and manage multiple client relationships to ensure premium satisfaction.

  • Knowledge Leadership: Contribute to the firm’s intellectual capital by participating in high-level training and becoming a recognized Subject Matter Expert (SME) in tax regulations.


Key Requirements

We are looking for a technically proficient leader with a “Big Firm” mindset and the ability to manage complex assignments independently.

  • Professional Credentials: Must be Part Qualified in a recognized professional body (CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or SLIT) or an Attorney-at-Law / Degree holder in Finance or Accounting.

  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years of dedicated experience in Taxation is mandatory.

  • Specialized Expertise: Proven track record in handling Tax Due Diligence and Cross-Border Transactions.

  • Technical Mastery: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel for complex tax modeling and data analysis.

  • Industry Acumen: A strong grasp of emerging industry trends, technical tax issues, and global best practices.

  • Leadership Traits: A dedicated team player with excellent leadership qualities and the ability to handle multiple assignments with minimal supervision.
