Projects Manager | Product Development & Design

Role Overview 

As the Projects Manager within the Strategy Team, you are the architect of execution for Qatar Airways’ most ambitious customer experience initiatives. This is a high-impact leadership role that bridges the gap between visionary product design and operational reality. You will oversee a diverse portfolio of projects—from next-generation Inflight Entertainment (IFE) and connected cabin ecosystems to revolutionary Food & Beverage concepts and cabin interiors. Your mission is to ensure that every strategic innovation is delivered through a rigorous governance framework, on time, and aligned with our global brand standards.


Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Governance & Program Planning

  • Framework Implementation: Support and enforce governance frameworks for customer experience and PDD initiatives, ensuring full compliance with organizational standards and processes.

  • Integrated Roadmapping: Develop and manage complex, multi-domain program plans that synchronize cabin interiors, connectivity, amenities, and service technologies.

  • Strategic Alignment: Ensure every project phase directly supports the long-term strategic goals of the Product Development Division and the wider Qatar Airways Group.

2. Cross-Functional Orchestration

  • Dependency Management: Coordinate activities across disparate teams—including Design, Tech, and Operations—to monitor dependencies and proactively adjust schedules.

  • Resource Optimization: Support resource planning and capacity monitoring to ensure concurrent initiatives are staffed efficiently, collaborating with HR and functional leads as needed.

  • Stakeholder Integration: Act as the central point of contact for program communications, managing expectations and facilitating collaboration between creative and technical departments.

3. Performance Analytics & Risk Mitigation

  • Reporting & Dashboards: Maintain high-visibility dashboards (using Power BI, Excel, or Smartsheet) to provide leadership with real-time insights into program health and performance trends.

  • Proactive Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks across the portfolio, facilitating mitigation plans and escalating critical issues to senior leadership with data-backed recommendations.

  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze program performance data to recommend and implement corrective actions, ensuring a culture of accountability and excellence.

4. Knowledge Management & Continuity

  • Documentation Mastery: Maintain comprehensive records of program decisions, actions, and outcomes to ensure seamless knowledge transfer across program phases.

  • Executive Summaries: Develop and deliver sophisticated reporting templates, presentations, and status updates for internal stakeholders and executive perusal.


About You: Skills & Competencies

  • Program Management Mastery: Deep expertise in managing the delivery of both physical products and digital ecosystems.

  • Methodological Versatility: Familiarity with stage-gate, agile, or hybrid delivery models tailored to innovation environments.

  • Analytical Precision: Ability to interpret complex program data and communicate trend analyses clearly to non-technical leadership.

  • Influence & Leadership: Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and drive results without direct authority over cross-functional teams.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of professional experience in program or project management, ideally within strategy, innovation, or technology-led sectors.

  • Technical Toolkit: Proficiency in Power BI, Smartsheet, and advanced Excel for tracking and reporting program health.

  • Industry Context: Experience in aviation, luxury hospitality, or high-end product design is highly advantageous.
