Senior Test Lead – Design Validation

Role Overview

This is a critical leadership position focused on the structural integrity and functional excellence of product designs. As the Senior Test Lead in Design Validation, you will be responsible for ensuring that products not only meet their specifications but also perform reliably under real-world conditions. This role requires a high-level strategic thinker who can bridge the gap between initial design concepts and final quality assurance, overseeing complex test architectures while mentoring a high-performing engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Test Planning & Technical Analysis

Specification Analysis: Engage in deep technical consultations with clients and internal stakeholders to dissect functional and design specifications.
Environment Architecture: Ensure the maintenance and optimization of sophisticated test environments and infrastructures to support high-fidelity validation.
Proactive Problem Solving: Actively participate in design reviews to identify potential performance bottlenecks or structural flaws before they reach the execution phase.

2. Process Innovation & Best Practices

Methodology Enhancement: Identify and implement continuous improvements in testing methodologies and toolsets to drive efficiency.
Standard Setting: Establish and document global best practices that elevate the quality standards across the entire validation lifecycle.
Efficiency Gains: Audit existing workflows to remove redundancies and integrate modern validation techniques.

3. Automated Validation & Quality Oversight

Framework Leadership: Oversee the development and execution of robust automated test scripts utilizing Selenium, JUnit, or equivalent enterprise tools.
Defect Mitigation: Ensure rigorous alignment with quality standards to minimize post-release defects and ensure a seamless user experience.
Consistency Oversight: Maintain a unified approach to script development to ensure modularity and reusability across different project workstreams.

4. Team Leadership & Technical Mentorship

Skill Development: Develop and mentor QA Engineers, focusing on their ability to utilize and contribute to the internal testing framework.
Capacity Building: Foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning, directly driving productivity enhancements within the team.

Skill Requirements

Validation Expertise: Advanced proficiency in design validation (DV) protocols and modern testing methodologies.
Automation Mastery: Strong, hands-on understanding of automated testing ecosystems (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG).
Lifecycle Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and sophisticated test management processes.
Performance Analysis: Familiarity with performance testing practices to identify and remediate application bottlenecks and latency issues.

Qualifications & Certifications

Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience: Proven track record in a lead or senior validation role, preferably within a fast-paced or regulated environment.
Certifications (Advantageous): * ISTQB Certified Tester (Foundational or Advanced Level).
- Certified Agile Tester (CAT) or equivalent Agile-focused validation credentials.
Communication: Exceptional ability to lead technical discussions and present complex validation data to diverse stakeholders.
