Presales – Team Member
Role Overview
The Presales Team Member is a strategic technical and commercial catalyst within the sales organization. You are responsible for bridging the gap between a client’s business challenges and the organization’s suite of solutions. By leveraging deep product knowledge and analytical thinking, you support the development of high-impact proposals and tailored demonstrations that drive the sales cycle forward. This role is fundamental to securing new business, as you transform complex technical capabilities into clear, value-driven outcomes that resonate with potential clients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirement Analysis & Technical Scoping

Solution Assessment: Utilize standardized assessment frameworks to dissect complex customer requirements and business pain points.

Specification Translation: Convert gathered requirements into precise technical specifications, leveraging CRM platforms and proposal management tools to ensure data integrity.

Fit-Gap Analysis: Identify how product features align with client needs and highlight areas for customization or integration.
2. Collateral Development & Documentation

Strategic Presentations: Craft compelling solution presentations using PowerPoint that tell a story of transformation rather than just listing features.

Technical Documentation: Develop detailed solution overviews and “Statement of Work” (SOW) drafts in Word, ensuring all documentation is professional, clear, and technically accurate.

Alignment: Ensure every piece of collateral is specifically tailored to the client’s industry and unique organizational context.
3. Product Demonstration & Validation

Feature Configuration: Support the setup of demo environments and “Proof of Concept” (POC) instances to showcase specific use cases.

Capability Showcasing: Lead or support live product demonstrations, effectively addressing technical queries and proving the “solution fit” in real-time.

Query Resolution: Act as the technical subject matter expert during the discovery phase to resolve doubts regarding integration, security, or performance.
4. RFP/RFI Management & Collaboration

Proposal Support: Collaborate with the broader presales and sales teams to gather data and draft technical responses for RFPs (Request for Proposal) and RFIs (Request for Information).

Competitive Positioning: Assist in crafting responses that highlight the organization’s unique selling points (USPs) against market competitors.

Cross-functional Coordination: Work with product and engineering teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible and deliverable.
5. Knowledge Management

Repository Maintenance: Update and maintain internal presales knowledge bases and “gold-standard” proposal libraries using SharePoint or similar systems.

Market Intelligence: Keep technical documentation up-to-date with the latest product releases, security certifications, and case studies to ensure the team is always “solution-ready.”
Skill Requirements

Technical Literacy: A strong grasp of software architectures, cloud environments, or the specific hardware/software stack relevant to the industry.

Analytical Thinking: Proficiency in using solution assessment frameworks to find the “why” behind a customer’s request.

Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills, with a talent for translating “tech-speak” into business value for C-suite stakeholders.

Tool Mastery: Advanced proficiency in MS Office 365 (specifically PowerPoint and Word) and familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Dynamics).

Agility: The ability to manage multiple overlapping proposal deadlines without compromising on quality or detail.
Other Requirements

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a presales, technical sales support, or business analyst role is preferred.

Professional Presence: A high degree of presentation confidence and the ability to build rapport quickly with potential clients.

Project Discipline: A “can-do” approach with a strong focus on meeting strict submission deadlines for global tenders.
