Associate Business Consultant – Business Analysis (Capital Markets)

Role Purpose The Associate Business Consultant acts as the strategic bridge between complex business requirements and technical implementation. This role is responsible for ensuring that product solutions are not only technically sound but also strictly aligned with market standards and the evolving needs of the FinTech landscape.


Key Responsibilities

Requirements Lifecycle & Design

  • Product Walkthroughs: Lead design discussions and product walkthroughs to ensure business needs are accurately captured within proposed solutions.

  • Scope Management: Expertly manage dynamic requirements and shifting project scopes in a fast-paced environment.

  • Industry Validation: Validate client requirements against global market standards and best practices, proposing strategic changes where necessary.

  • Impact Analysis: Analyze the functional impact of Change Requests (CRs) and collaborate with the team to define clear acceptance criteria.

Agile Execution & Delivery

  • Backlog Management: Manage and prioritize the sprint backlog to align with delivery milestones and core business priorities.

  • Functional Refinement: Facilitate deep-dive refinement sessions with the development team to ensure technical implementation details are clearly defined.

  • Traceability: Maintain and evaluate end-to-end requirement traceability, ensuring functional/non-functional requirements are correctly linked to test documentation.

  • Quality Assurance: Review test cases to verify full coverage of business requirements.

Project Stewardship & Documentation

  • Functional Ownership: Take independent ownership of specific functional areas within large-scale change programs without direct supervision.

  • Progress Monitoring: Proactively monitor project health, highlighting potential cost or schedule overruns to leadership upfront.

  • Standards Maintenance: Uphold and improve documentation templates, ensuring Epic and Story-level requirements maintain the appropriate level of detail.

Client Engagement & Market Expertise

  • Market Knowledge: Maintain comprehensive, end-to-end knowledge of market structures, regulations, and standards relevant to the product domain.

  • Demonstrations: Conduct professional end-to-end training sessions and product demos for both prospective and existing clients.


Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree with a strong inclination towards FinTech or Technology.

  • Experience: * 4+ years of proven experience in IT Business Analysis or Product Owner roles.

    • Full project lifecycle exposure: from initial requirements gathering and build to go-live and post-production support.

  • Certifications: Completion of CFA Level 1 or CISI Level 2 is considered a significant advantage.

  • Domain Expertise: Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations specifically related to Capital Markets.

  • Technical Familiarity:

    • Experience with cloud and data engineering technologies: Kafka, Redis, Kudu, Spark, or Flink.

    • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or Scala.
