Product Owner Manager | Digital Commerce & Service Experiences
Role Overview
As a Product Owner Manager within our rapidly expanding Digital Commerce & Service Experiences division, you will be the driving force behind our digital evolution. You will lead high-performing, cross-functional “pods” to deliver seamless product enhancements and innovative features that define the future of travel. Your role is to bridge the gap between strategic vision and technical execution, ensuring that every sprint delivers maximum value to our global passengers while maintaining the world-class standards of Qatar Airways.
Key Responsibilities
1. Agile Pod Leadership & Delivery

Multidisciplinary Oversight: Lead one or more cross-functional pods—including engineers, UX/UI designers, and QA specialists—to ensure the high-quality delivery of new digital features.

Sprint Orchestration: Define sprint scopes based on the product backlog and available capacity, ensuring that all pod members are aligned on their contributions and deadlines.

Release Management: Manage all activities around feature releases, including final sign-off and initial performance monitoring to ensure enhancements meet expectations.
2. Design & Technical Governance

Standard Excellence: Organize sessions to establish UX, UI, and back-end deliverables; conduct rigorous reviews and demos to ensure all output aligns with organizational standards.

Roadmap Integration: Translate the overall digital product roadmap into actionable user stories and prioritized features based on expected business impact.

Continuous Improvement: Encourage regular reporting within the pod to identify and resolve technical challenges or issues early in the development lifecycle.
3. Stakeholder Collaboration & Risk Mitigation

Blocker Removal: Work proactively with Finance, IT, and Commercial units to remove project blockers and secure additional specialist support when required.

Strategic Communication: Facilitate feedback loops between the digital team and senior management to ensure transparency and alignment on product goals.

Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies to keep delivery timelines on track.
About You: Skills & Competencies

Digital Lifecycle Expert: Deep understanding of the entire product development journey, from customer experience and UI/UX design to analytics and engineering.

Strategic Prioritization: Ability to estimate work complexity and size effectively, ensuring a realistic and impactful product roadmap.

Industry Acumen: Functional knowledge of web and mobile platforms, with a solid grasp of airline sales, marketing, and distribution mechanisms.

Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with core airline systems and applications to ensure digital products integrate seamlessly with backend operations.
Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant field.

Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in Product Lifecycle Management.

Domain Expertise: Proven track record in managing digital product delivery, with a strong preference for experience within the Travel or Aviation industry.

Methodology: Advanced knowledge of Agile methodologies is highly advantageous.
