Retail Sales Desk Executive – DHL (Sri Lanka)

How will you contribute to the success of DHL?

As a Retail Sales Desk Executive, you are the primary ambassador of the DHL brand for our walk-in customers. Your role is to transform a simple service interaction into a premium retail experience. You will be responsible for driving revenue through proactive sales, ensuring our service points meet global brand standards, and delivering the world-class customer service that DHL is known for.


Key Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Drive Performance: Actively work toward achieving and exceeding retail sales targets and revenue growth milestones.

  • Strategic Activation: Implement local sales activation programs and promotions designed to increase customer footfall and service uptake.

  • Upselling: Identify customer needs to recommend premium shipping solutions, insurance, and packaging options that add value to their experience.

Brand & Store Management

  • Premium Presentation: Maintain the retail store environment to the highest standards, ensuring it consistently reflects DHL’s “Certified International Specialist” branding.

  • Customer Experience: Manage the physical store layout and atmosphere to create a high-impact, professional, and welcoming environment for every visitor.

  • Operational Excellence: Ensure all retail processes, from shipment acceptance to payment handling, are executed with speed and precision.

Relationship Management

  • Issue Resolution: Handle customer inquiries and complaints with a balanced, objective approach, ensuring swift and satisfactory resolutions.

  • Customer Loyalty: Foster long-term relationships with retail and small-business walk-in clients through exceptional interpersonal communication.


Do you have what it takes?

  • Education: Successful completion of the GCE Advanced Level Examination.

  • Professional Qualification: A full or partial qualification in Sales or Marketing from a recognized institute is required.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in local languages is a distinct advantage for customer interaction.

  • Interpersonal Strength: A natural ability to build rapport quickly and maintain a professional, patient-centric demeanor.

  • Problem-Solving: A logical and objective mindset when navigating retail challenges or complex customer requirements.

  • Professional Appearance: Ability to represent a premium global brand with high energy and professional grooming standards.
