Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable data architecture solutions. This role is focused on building robust analytics platforms and sophisticated integration workflows within the Microsoft Azure and Fabric ecosystems.

The ideal candidate is a technical leader who can translate complex business requirements into high-performance data models while mentoring junior staff and ensuring the highest standards of data governance.

Key Responsibilities

Data Architecture & Engineering

Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain complex ELT/ETL pipelines and data integration workflows, primarily utilizing Azure Data Factory.
Modern Data Stack: Develop and optimize solutions within Microsoft Fabric environments to support advanced analytics and reporting.
Architecture Design: Create scalable data models and architectures that support large-scale information analysis and business intelligence initiatives.
Migration & Integration: Lead data migration processes from legacy systems to cloud-based, serverless architectures.

Governance & DevOps

Quality & Compliance: Implement data quality systems and robust governance processes to ensure data integrity and security.
CI/CD Integration: Support DevOps practices by managing deployments for data solutions through automated CI/CD pipelines.
Technical Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, system configurations, and deployment setups.

Strategic Consulting & Leadership

Requirement Analysis: Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical execution by translating needs into technical specifications.
Mentorship: Lead and mentor technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Client Engagement: Facilitate workshops and present technical solutions to clients and internal peers with clarity and confidence.

Technical Requirements

Experience: 4+ years of dedicated experience in Data Engineering.
Azure Ecosystem: Strong hands-on experience with a broad range of Azure services, including:
- Data Movement/Storage: Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, Cosmos DB, and Event Hub.
- Compute/Analytics: Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse (Data Warehouse), Azure Functions, and Stream Analytics.
- Modeling/Governance: Azure Analysis Services and Azure Data Catalogue.
Microsoft Fabric: Demonstrated experience working within the Microsoft Fabric environment.
Cloud Infrastructure: Deep understanding of serverless architectures, big data processing, and ARM Templates.

Highly Regarded (Nice to Have)

Advanced Analytics: Exposure to Azure Purview, AI/ML workflows, or ML Studio.
Modern Architectures: Experience with IoT, event-driven architectures, or microservices-based cloud solutions.

Consulting Background: Prior experience in client service delivery or professional consulting on the Azure platform.
