Associate Lead – DevOps

Role Purpose The Associate Lead – DevOps is a pivotal role that bridges the gap between software development and IT operations. In this position, you will take ownership of DevOps lifecycles within assigned projects, driving the automation of deployment pipelines and ensuring the stability of cloud-based environments. As an Associate Lead, you will balance technical execution—such as CI/CD implementation and infrastructure as code—with a burgeoning leadership mandate to mentor junior engineers and coordinate cross-project initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

CI/CD & Infrastructure Automation

Pipeline Architecture: Contribute to the design and implementation of sophisticated CI/CD pipelines and deployment architectures to accelerate delivery cycles.
Automation Engineering: Lead automation tasks involving integration, testing, and deployment using tools like Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Process Optimization: Proactively identify and adopt new technologies and methodologies to refine existing DevOps workflows.
Infrastructure Support: Support system performance monitoring and optimization initiatives to maintain high availability and scalability.

Leadership & Project Management

Team Ownership: Take full ownership of DevOps activities for specific projects, ensuring all tasks are performed to the highest quality standards.
Peer Mentorship: Review the work of team members to maintain adherence to global standards and provide guidance to junior engineers.
Planning & Estimation: Assist in effort estimation, sprint tracking, and resource planning to ensure project milestones are met.
Risk Mitigation: Identify potential technical or operational risks early and assist in formulating robust mitigation plans.

Collaboration & Compliance

DevSecOps Advocacy: Promote and integrate DevSecOps practices, ensuring security is baked into every stage of the SDLC.
Cross-Functional Synergy: Collaborate with development, support, and testing teams to achieve Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and support System Integration Testing (SIT).
Culture Alignment: Understand and champion the internal DevOps culture, serving as an ambassador for best practices across the organization.

Person Specifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication, Computer Science, IT, or Systems/Networking.
Experience: * 3–5 years of professional experience in DevOps, Networking, or IT.
- Proven experience with API Gateways and cloud environments (specifically AWS).
- Hands-on experience with UNIX-based operating systems.
Technical Stack: * CI/CD & Orchestration: Expert knowledge of Jenkins, SonarQube, Kubernetes, Docker, and SCM tools.
- Scripting & IaC: Proficiency in Bash, Ansible, Python, or Terraform.
- Monitoring: Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Development Awareness: Basic familiarity with Java, Angular, React, or PHP to better support development teams.
Core Competencies: * Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on system and network security.
- Communication: Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills for coordinating between multiple project teams.
- Agile Proficiency: Solid understanding of Scrum and Agile practices.
Database Knowledge: Basic understanding of DBMS management and data integrity.
