Manager, Financial Accounting and Control
Role Purpose The Manager, Financial Accounting and Control is a senior leadership position responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, accurate accounting in alignment with global policies. This role demands a strategic thinker who can bridge the gap between technical accounting, robust financial controls, and operational excellence. You will lead a high-performing team to meet rigorous reporting and audit timelines while driving continuous process improvement across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance

Accounting Excellence: Deliver timely and accurate financial accounting in strict alignment with LSEG’s global accounting policies and procedures.

Audit Leadership: Lead the team to meet tight reporting and audit deadlines, providing internal and external auditors with clear, timely, and substantiated information.

Balance Sheet Integrity: Maintain a high standard of balance sheet controls, ensuring full team adherence to reconciliation and substantiation protocols.
Operational Strategy & Control

Risk & Mitigation: Proactively identify financial risks and process gaps; recommend and lead the implementation of scalable solutions.

Controls Framework: Partner closely with the Financial Controls team to ensure absolute alignment with the established Financial Controls Framework.

Scope Onboarding: Manage the integration of new business areas into the finance function, ensuring seamless alignment with the standard operating model.

Systems Optimization: Collaborate with Finance Systems Support to identify system enhancements, corrective actions, and automation opportunities.
Leadership & Talent Development

Performance Management: Design and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team effectiveness, sharing proactive updates with leadership.

Resilience & Planning: Strengthen team stability through thoughtful succession planning and the development of standardized training materials for consistent onboarding.

Change Advocacy: Contribute to group-level projects and strategic change initiatives, supporting ad-hoc requirements as the business evolves.
Preferred Skills & Experience

Education & Certification: Professional Accounting Qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CA) and/or a relevant degree.

Experience: * 5–7 years of post-qualification experience, with a strong preference for candidates from a Big 4 audit firm background.

Experience within a Finance Shared Services environment is a distinct advantage.

Technical Expertise:

Deep knowledge of technical accounting concepts and principles.

Proven track record in implementing and monitoring complex financial controls.

Hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion, Oracle, HFM/FCCS, and BlackLine is highly desirable.
