Software Engineer – Identity & Access Management (IAM)
As a Software Engineer in our IAM team, you will contribute to the core of WSO2’s security solutions. You’ll be tasked with building secure, scalable, and high-performance identity management systems. We are looking for someone who doesn’t just “code to spec,” but thinks about the big picture—considering security, performance, and user experience in every line of code.
Key Responsibilities
-
Design & Development: Build and implement robust solutions that align with our overall architecture, prioritizing code quality, security, and scalability.
-
Problem Solving: Analyze complex scenarios and think through the “big picture” to ensure every functional requirement is met without compromising system integrity.
-
Execution: Accurately estimate project efforts and deliver high-quality work on time.
-
Product Ownership: Identify and document user stories, following our established processes to ensure features meet real-world user needs.
-
Innovation: Research and propose functional and technical improvements to keep our IAM products at the forefront of the industry.
-
Effective Communication: Clearly articulate ideas in technical and non-technical discussions, conduct product demos, and lead training sessions with confidence.
Qualifications & Skills
-
Education: BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
-
Experience: Open to fresh graduates or those with 1–2 years of industry experience.
-
Coding Proficiency: Strong development skills in at least one major programming language; experience with Java, C#, or C/C++ is highly advantageous.
-
Analytical Mindset: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for security-focused engineering.
-
Bonus Skills: Knowledge or experience with Distributed Systems will give you a competitive edge.

Focus Areas for Your IAM Application:
-
Security Interest: If you’ve ever worked with (or studied) OAuth2, OpenID Connect, or SAML, make sure those terms appear on your CV.
-
The “Java” Edge: WSO2 Identity Server is built on Java. If you are a fresh grad, highlighting your Java-based academic projects is a smart move.
-
Communication: Since the JD mentions “product demos” and “trainings,” mention any experience you have in public speaking, tutoring, or presenting your final year project.
