Principal Consultant | SAP BTP & Engineering Services

Role Overview

As a Principal Consultant, you will lead the architecture and delivery of sophisticated digital solutions within our Engineering Services line. This role is designed for a techno-functional expert who can bridge the gap between complex business requirements and high-performance SAP BTP ecosystems. You will be a champion of “Clean Core” principles, designing side-by-side extensions and robust integrations that connect SAP S/4HANA with the broader enterprise landscape. From Fiori development to CPI orchestration, you will ensure our clients leverage the full power of the SAP Business Technology Platform.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Development

Architectural Translation: Analyze business needs and architect scalable solutions specifically tailored for the SAP BTP environment.
Clean Core Advocacy: Design and develop side-by-side extensions following SAP’s modern development paradigms to keep the digital core stable and upgradable.
App Development: Build and configure custom applications using the SAP BTP Extension Suite, including SAP Fiori and UI5 enhancements.

Integration & Data Orchestration

Hybrid Connectivity: Develop and manage seamless integrations between SAP and non-SAP systems using the SAP Integration Suite (CPI).
API Management: Build and expose enterprise-grade services using OData and REST APIs to facilitate message-based communication.
Backend Excellence: Support backend development using ABAP, CDS Views, and high-performance OData services.

Delivery & Governance

End-to-End Collaboration: Partner with functional consultants and architects to enable seamless business processes from discovery to deployment.
Lifecycle Management: Lead testing phases (Unit, SIT, UAT), manage deployment cycles, and provide expert resolution for production issues.
Standards & Documentation: Prepare comprehensive technical and functional documentation while ensuring strict adherence to SAP best practices, security, and governance.

Technical & Professional Requirements

Experience: 5–10 years in SAP techno-functional roles, with a concentrated focus on SAP BTP.
Platform Expertise: Hands-on mastery of:
- SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
- SAP Integration Suite (CPI) & API Management
- SAP Fiori / UI5 & CDS Views
- Side-by-side extension and “Clean Core” concepts
Functional Fluency: Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA business processes and the ability to navigate both the technical and functional layers of an implementation.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Applications (BCA/MCA), or Science (BSc/MSc).
