Head of Game Design (Lead Mathematician)

Role Overview

Charterhouse is partnering with a global leader in iGaming and online slots to appoint a Head of Game Design. This is a high-level leadership role that sits at the intersection of complex mathematics and creative entertainment. You will lead a specialized team of mathematicians in the UAE and internationally, ensuring that every slot experience is built upon world-class mathematical models. Your mission is to blend statistical precision with engaging player psychology to deliver high-performing games that redefine the industry standard.

Key Responsibilities

1. Mathematical Architecture & Validation

Model Design: Design and validate sophisticated math models for slot games, meticulously balancing RTP (Return to Player), hit rates, and volatility profiles.
Logic Simulation: Develop custom programming tools and execute high-volume simulations to verify game logic and ensure mathematical integrity.
Architecture Integration: Produce detailed math documentation and ensure seamless integration between mathematical models and game server architecture.

2. Leadership & Mentorship

Team Management: Lead and mentor a specialized team of mathematicians, fostering a culture that prizes both creative innovation and extreme mathematical precision.
Strategic Vision: Guide the team in creating engaging, high-performing games that align with global market trends and player preferences.
Resource Optimization: Manage workflows across local and international teams to ensure timely delivery of innovative slot concepts.

3. Stakeholder Collaboration

Concept Presentation: Act as the bridge between the math department and the executive suite, presenting complex game concepts to senior stakeholders with clarity and vision.
Technical Synergy: Collaborate closely with prototype and server development teams to ensure the creative vision is technically feasible and mathematically sound.

About You: Skills & Competencies

Statistical Mastery: A profound understanding of probability, statistics, and combinatorics as they apply to the gambling industry.
Technical Proficiency: Expert-level skills in programming for simulations and the development of mathematical prototypes.
Creative Innovation: The ability to look beyond the numbers to understand what makes a game “feel” right and keep players engaged.
Executive Presence: Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into compelling business cases for leadership.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: A strong academic background in Mathematics, Statistics, Probability, or a related quantitative field.
iGaming Expertise: Proven experience within the iGaming sector, specifically with a deep focus on online slot mechanics.
Leadership Track Record: Previous experience managing teams of mathematicians or game designers in a fast-paced, high-output environment.
Market Insight: A thorough understanding of current global slot market trends and regional regulatory requirements.
