Senior AI Engineer | Global Family Office

Role Overview

On behalf of a confidential Global Family Office, Charterhouse is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join their Product Support & Design Division. This is a high-impact role focused on the next frontier of artificial intelligence: autonomous agentic systems. Rather than building basic conversational interfaces, you will architect sophisticated single and multi-agent frameworks that leverage advanced reasoning, planning, and long-horizon task execution. You will be a core contributor to an innovation-led team, transforming the organization’s digital product landscape through intelligent, tool-augmented systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Agentic Architecture & Orchestration

System Design: Architect complex agent frameworks incorporating memory management, planning cycles, and feedback loops to ensure reliable task execution.
Multi-Agent Coordination: Design and deploy multi-agent architectures where specialized agents collaborate to solve intricate, multi-step organizational challenges.
Context Management: Implement and refine advanced context management approaches to ensure continuity and consistency across long-duration workflows.

2. Tool Augmentation & Integration

API & Service Interfacing: Build robust frameworks that enable AI agents to interact reliably with internal databases, external APIs, and specialized technical tools.
Technical Workflows: Design the underlying technical workflows that power digital products, ensuring seamless integration between model outputs and functional service layers.

3. Model Optimization & Scalability

Performance Engineering: Make informed design decisions based on model capabilities, inference behavior, and performance trade-offs (latency vs. accuracy).
Scalability: Ensure that agent-driven systems are built to scale, maintaining high reliability and efficiency as organizational demand grows.
Evaluation & Refinement: Monitor model behavior and structured problem-solving outputs to continuously improve the precision of agent planning cycles.

About You: Skills & Competencies

Beyond Chatbots: Proven commercial experience developing agent-based or LLM-assisted applications that go beyond simple RAG or conversational interfaces.
Orchestration Expertise: Deep familiarity with modern ecosystem tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, or equivalent agentic platforms.
Technical Reasoning: Strong foundations in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and a nuanced understanding of model training, inference characteristics, and structured output.
Effective Communication: Exceptional English communication skills, with the ability to translate complex AI architectural decisions to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: A Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
Domain Experience: Significant experience in data-intensive sectors such as Finance, Healthcare, or E-commerce is highly preferred.
Technical Leadership: A track record of domain leadership; contributions to open-source projects, technical publications, or peer-reviewed research will be viewed favorably.
Modeling Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of modern modeling techniques and the ability to build frameworks from the ground up that leverage tool-use and autonomous planning.
